Hi, Bonnie's Blog! I haven't visited you in a while!

The hair ad entry brought back memories: Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific; Dippity Do; The Breck Girl. Oh, gosh. Farah Fawcett hair. Everyone wanted that. Feathered bangs. Feathered! Curling irons run amok, too! I remember lots of girls in hs who had these tightly rolled curling iron curls--like little sausages--on either side of their faces.

These days, my son and I have a running patter when hair ads come on the tv: Oh, gosh! She has longflowingshinyhair! Whatta shock! Of course, both of us have thick wavy misbehaving hair, so we are united in our (jealous? okay, we cop to that) contempt of the perfectly coiffed.

hair is pretty uniformly straight and shiny these days; the straight part would be okay for me, but the shiny -- due to a lot of chemicals -- not so much :)

i remember all those hair products you list. i saw the barrel curls the other day on campus, right down each side of a young girl's face. you can see it sometimes on American Idol, too (i do NOT watch that show except when i want to spend time w/ Mike, who, for some reason, loves it).

thanks for writing ;)
